NIMACH (Northern Ireland Maternal and Child Health) collects and analyses data in support of the maternal and newborn enquiry process. In its previous guise as CEMACH (NI) the office contributed to the UK-wide confidential enquiries led by CMACE into maternal and child health.
New arrangments are being put in place at national level for this to continue as the Maternal and Newborn Clinical Outcome Review Programme with new national enquiry programmes in relation to child health also being developed.
In the interim, perinatal and maternal data for Northern Ireland continues to be collected, analysed and made available by NIMACH.
