Census 2011 data now included in the Northern Ireland Longitudinal Study (NILS)

The NILS is a large-scale record linkage study of approximately 500,000 people that was created by linking statistical and administrative data sources. The NILS previously included the 2001 Census returns, demographic and migration events, and vital events (births and deaths)...and as of December 2013 now also includes 2011 Census data.

To date 43 projects have been completed on the NILS and a further 20 are currently under way.

Do you have a health related research question that you think the NILS could help to answer?

Why not contact the NILS- Research Support Unit who will discuss your research idea with you and help assess whether the NILS is well placed to answer it?

Further detail on the NILS application process, including essential criteria for using the NILS, is available in the NILS-RSU website.
